For one day, a street in Quincy was transformed into Santa Monica, California for filming of “Black Mass.”
A movie crew took over the neighborhood Monday to film scenes that take place in the Southern California neighborhood where notorious gangster James "Whitey" Bulger was captured.
“When you come up through the garage and you see the brick on either side, you see the stucco and you see the palm trees it looks like you’re in California. It’s crazy,” Amanda Szymczuk said.
Fans had some great pictures of the movie being filmed and the set being constructed.
“It’s been exciting. It’s fun to watch the set go up. First they put up the pink stucco thing against the building across the street then they came through with a truck of palm trees,” one resident said.
