Decorations stolen from grave in Peabody

PEABODY, Mass. (WHDH) -

Police in Peabody are investigating a classless crime. Sentimental items were taken from a grave site.

Annmarie Schieding's daughter was just 10-years-old when she passed away a decade ago.

Her mother has decorated her grave with angels and dolphins ever since then, symbols she says her daughter adored.

"Those items were left here for her from her loved ones, from family and friends who loved her very much. They weren't left here by accident. It was deliberate and they were for her, not for anyone else. I'm glad that you liked them but we would like to have them back,” Schieding said.

Schieding says she specifically chose Oak Grove Cemetery because they do not remove items from grave sites and hopes they will be returned soon.
