BPD, TD Garden officials discuss drug incident

Posted: Updated:
BOSTON (WHDH) - Boston's Police Commissioners met with TD Garden officials Tuesday to talk about the drug incident last week's Avicii concert.

Nearly 30 young people were hospitalized suffering from what appeared to be excessive alcohol and drugs. Many of those treated were teenagers.

Mayor Marty Walsh called the incident disturbing and concerning and is reviewing what happened.

"This isn't about pointing fingers at a venue or a type of music, but rather about coming together as partners and figuring out the best ways to keep people safe," the mayor said in a statement.

Nearly 90 people total were treated for heat, alcohol, or drug-related symptoms. Authorities said none of the injuries were serious.
