So the beat goes on… another weekend, another dry forecast.  It’s just what we longed for during those cold and snowy winter months, and now is the time to take advantage of it.

While it starts off cool early this morning, it’s a quick bounce back up temperature-wise today thanks to the sunshine and low humidity in place.  The winds today are light, and that means it’s easy for the sea breezes to kick on in, and they will.  Expect beach temps to run in the mid 70s while inland locations run in the mid 80s.  A few puffy cumulus clouds build to mix in with the sunshine this afternoon, mainly away from the coast, but no rain is expected.

Tonight is comfortable again, just not quite as cool.  Overnight lows fall into the mid 50s in the burbs to the lower to middle 60s in the city.

More sunshine for Sunday?  We can do that as morning sunshine yields to a mix of sun and clouds for the afternoon.  The sea breeze takes longer to kick in, so even the coastline exceeds 80 degrees before any feeble sea breezes flirts with the shoreline. Beach temps fall into the 70s across Cape Ann and Cape Cod, but likely stay over 80 across the South Shore.  We’ll hit the mid 80s in Boston, and upper 80s across the Merrimack Valley.

Warmth and the humidity build next week with highs in the upper 80s Monday – Wednesday in Boston and near or just above 90 in the Merrimack Valley.  The storm threat is rather low to start the week, but gradually builds.  An isolated storm is possible Tuesday, scattered storms possible Wednesday and widespread storms are likely Thursday.  The atmosphere will be loaded with moisture, so any thunderstorm will be capable of producing downpours.  We could use the water, and despite just having rain a couple days ago, the lawns and gardens dry out fast this time of year, and will be parched by the time these storms make their way in.

How about the Fourth?  Right now, it appears that the widespread storms Thursday and Thursday night will slide offshore by Friday morning as the front that triggers them moves east.  On the other side of that front, low 80s and lower humidity should move back in with returning sun for The Fourth of July.  Hopefully that timing can stick.

 Enjoy the weekend!
