First-time driver hit tree, flipped car in Waltham

WALTHAM, Mass. (WHDH) -

Waltham police may have said it best on Twitter after responding to a rollover accident: “Very minor injuries. First driving lesson didn't go well.”

Pat Roche was working nearby and called 911 after seeing a car upside down.

"It was interesting to see definitely because there's no way they were going that fast down here. It was just one of those freak things I guess,” he said.

Police, fire and EMS all responded but no one was seriously hurt.

Officials said it was a teenage girl receiving not just a driving lesson, but her first driving lesson.

"That's what they mentioned. They mentioned that it was her first time driving. And she rolled the car. I wouldn't be surprised if she doesn't want to drive again,” Roche said.
