YOUR SAY: Who is to blame for the Miss Delaware controversy?

Posted: Updated:
The woman who was stripped of her Miss Delaware crown appeared on the TODAY Show this morning.

24-year-old Amanda Longacre couldn't hide her heartache when she talked about how pageant officials stripped her of her title Tuesday because they said she is too old.

Longacre, who said she is new to competing in pageants, said she was shocked to lose her crown.

Pageant rules say contestants must be 17 to 24 years old. They also say you can't turn 25 before the end of the year.

Longacre said she provided her birth date and multiple forms of identification to her state organization when she applied to compete.

Longacre's 25th birthday is in October.
