Witness: Man on MBTA bus was 'sniffing and eating' cocaine

Posted: Updated:
BOSTON (WHDH) - A man was arrested on an MBTA bus after it was reported that he was "sniffing and eating" cocaine.

Transit Police were near the Andrew Square T station Wednesday afternoon when somebody reported that a man in the back of the Route 10 bus was sniffing cocaine and provided a description, saying the drugs were located in a candy tin.

Officers boarded the bus and observed the man who matched the witness's description. The man, later identified as Robert Hynes, 22, of South Boston had an Altoids tin which police discovered contained drugs including a bag of what they believed to be heroin, a bag of marijuana and two pills.

Hynes was arrested for possession. He was expected to be arraigned in court on Thursday.
