DA says it isn't clear who was driving in fatal Back Bay crash

Posted: Updated:
BOSTON (WHDH) - As family and friends waited outside the courtroom, the Suffolk County DA continued to investigate a fatal crash that occurred Saturday in Boston's Back Bay neighborhood.

Police were originally going to charge a 26-year-old woman with two counts of motor vehicle homicide, but the DA said there was conflicting information as to whether she was driving.

Her husband was believed to be sitting in the passenger seat at the time of the crash. He reportedly told police he was the one driving.

The DA’s office has been interviewing witnesses in the two days since the crash and they said at this point it was not clear who was actually driving.

The woman was released from jail before she was formally charged.

A spokesman for the District Attorney said they were still waiting for more analysis of the evidence and were conducting interviews.
