BOSTON (WHDH) - Boston Police identified the victims of Saturday's fatal collision in the Back Bay.

The Boston Police Department said 28-year-old John Lanzillotti was killed and 27-year-old Jessica Campbell was critically injured in the multiple vehicle crash and transported to Brigham and Women's Hospital where she later died of injuries.

The crash happened at Fairfield Street and Beacon Street at around 9:15 p.m. One of the vehicles ran up onto the sidewalk and hit the couple, who were dating. One vehicle flipped over and another was badly damaged.

Two people inside a vehicle had non-life threatening injuries and were taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

A makeshift memorial is growing at the scene of the crash. Friends and strangers are leaving mementos behind for the victims.

"Just that they won't be forgotten even from a random stranger, that your life had significance," said Leigh Denny, who lives near the scene.

Lanzillotti worked for the Red Sox for seven years and was manager of productions and game operations. He was a New England Emmy Award winner who produced features for NESN-TV's weekly "Red Sox Report" and created many of the vignettes seen between innings at Fenway Park, the Red Sox said.

“Jack has been an important, respected, and beloved member of our organization for the past seven years,” said Red Sox President/CEO Larry Lucchino. “His poise under pressure and good-humored manner helped us deliver consistently outstanding results. We are all grief-stricken, and we send our deepest sympathies and condolences to Jack’s and Jessica’s families.”

The cause of the accident is under investigation and police are urging witnesses to come forward with information. No arrests have been announced.
