Cambridge police warn of attacker on bicycle

Posted: Updated:
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (WHDH) -

Women in Cambridge were warned to keep an eye out for an attacker riding a bicycle.

Police said twice this week they responded to reports of a man riding up behind women on his bike, groping them, and then riding away.

“I would have never thought a person on a bike would do that,” one person said.

The attacks occurred in the area of Cambridge Street not far from Harvard Square.

“It really gives me the creeps because we’re out here quite often. I walk to Harvard Square a lot and I’m back at 10 at night,” one woman said.

Police said they believed they recovered the bike used in one attack, but worried the man found another.

Anyone with information was asked to call the Cambridge Police Department at (617) 349-3300.
