Ben and Jerry's adds SNL-inspired flavors

Posted: Updated:
BOSTON (WHDH) - Ben and Jerry's is celebrating Saturday Night Live's 40 years on television with two new ice cream flavors.

One of the new flavors is called "Gilly's Catastrophic Crunch." It's named for Gilly, a character played by Kristen Wiig. The flavor is a combination of chocolate and sweet cream ice creams, with carmel clusters, fudge covered almonds and marshmallow swirl.

The other is "Lazy Sunday". It is inspired by the famous 2005 digital short starring Andy Samberg and Chris Parnell. The flavor consists of a vanilla cake batter base, with chocolate and yellow cupcake pieces and a chocolate frosting swirl.

Two additional flavors will be released at a later date.
