Lawyers subpoena Hernandez medical records from Patriots

Posted: Updated:
Fall River, Mass. (WHDH) - Aaron Hernandez’s attorneys say the Patriots are holding out on giving them medical records they say they need.

They're asking the judge to order the Pats to turn over "any and all records pertaining to Mr. Hernandez's employment by the New England patriots between 2010 and 2013."

Including “psychological testing, medication records, x-rays, MRIs, CT scans, drug or alcohol abuse records."

As well as other records including "investigative reports" from his time with the Patriots.

In the new court filing Hernandez’s attorneys say they have been ignored by the Patriot’s front office for months.

They say they called repeatedly and sent a release signed by Hernandez clearing the team to release all medical records except for records on HIV or sexually transmitted diseases.

Hernandez is accused of killing Odin Lloyd one year ago.

That investigation led prosecutors to charge to the former patriots star in the drive-by shooting deaths of two men in Boston back in 2012.

Hernandez’s defense team says the records are critical to their case.

A Patriots spokesperson said the team will not be releasing any statements regarding this case.
