PELHAM, N.H. (WHDH) - Police say a bomb squad has safely removed a live grenade from a house in Pelham, New Hampshire.
Authorities say a man found the grenade Sunday evening while he was cleaning out his mother's basement.
The man told police he had discovered a canister that looked like one that would be used to hold grenades. When he opened it, he says he found a grenade with its pin pulled halfway out.
Police shut down a nearby intersection and called in the Nashua Bomb Squad to safely remove the grenade.
