Health and Fitness Expo 2014 wraps up Sunday

Posted: Updated:
BOSTON (WHDH) - Tens of thousands of people packed the Hynes Convention Center for day two of the 7News Boston Medical Center Health and Fitness Expo and it didn't disappoint.

It was a big weekend filled with medical screenings, healthy food and fun. Participants tested their strength, skated on the Olympic Zone indoor ice rink and tried their hand at being a member of the news team.

Kids and adults had the chance to check their health all for free with foot exams, skin cancer screenings and pulmonary tests. For the first time this year, people got to talk to a doctor and get answers to their individual medical questions. Boston Medical Center said around 7,000 people were able to get screenings.

Patriots favorite Vince Wilfork talked healthy eating and diabetes prevention.

"I can smell food and gain weight, so that was one of the main areas that we talked about that we wanted to make sure we were on top of," Wilfork said.

One of the most popular events was the What's Cookin' stage where some of Boston's best chefs whipped up recipes that are good for you and taste great too.

The Expo wrapped for this year, but there's always 2015.
