BOSTON (WHDH) -
A Peabody man was arrested after leading police on a pursuit through two states Sunday afternoon.
Police in Salem, N.H. began pursuing a stolen red GMC pickup at around 4:30 p.m. According to police, the truck had two men in it. The truck led police on a chase on Route 93 southbound.
Officials clocked the speed of the truck at 85 miles per hour.
The pursuit ended when the truck crashed on Lewis Street in the North End and the driver fled the scene on foot. Michael Daniels, 33, who at the time was in possession of a pellet gun, was arrested by Boston Police.
He is expected to be held overnight and will be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on Monday.
The passenger of the vehicle told police that he had been kidnapped. Police are investigating these claims. So far, no charges have been filed.
