Worcester woman reunited with dog thanks to Facebook

WORCESTER, Mass. (WHDH) - Nick Johnson was driving down the highway when he noticed an unusual sight: a springer spaniel on the side of the road in Worcester.

"We just see this beautiful dog, just prancing and bobbing and weaving around cars,” he said.

That spaniel, Noah, had escaped through a fence Tuesday night while his owner Pamela Rivers was in Boston visiting friends.

Johnson grabbed Noah from the side of the road and then his brother came up with an idea to help get Noah home.

“I took two pictures of the dog and posted on Facebook and immediately it started to get shares left and right,” Alex Johnson said.

The post got 1,300 shares by morning and one girl who saw the pictures said she recognized Noah.

"A girl ended up commenting saying, ‘wow, that's my neighbor's dog,’” Alex said.

Rivers and the Johnsons got in touch and she rushed over to retrieve Noah.

"I stood up and I said ‘can I give you a hug please?’ I gave him a hug and I said thank you so much for saving my dog,” she said.

The Johnsons said they loved having Noah for the short time and now are thinking about adopting a springer spaniel of their own.
