Wife of accused child rapist pleads guilty to endangerment

WOBURN, Mass. (WHDH) - The wife of a convicted sex offender pleaded guilty in court to child endangerment charges for leave children entrusted to her care with her husband, a registered sex offender.

Marian Burbine, 48, was running an unregistered daycare facility at her house from 2010 through 2012 and during that time her husband, John Burbine, allegedly raped and sexually assaulted infants and toddlers from several surrounding towns.

John Burbine was also accused of possessing images which he allegedly recorded of the children in various states of nudity and depicting sexual acts. He had previously had three convictions for indecently assaulting children in 1989 and supported cases with the Department of Children and Families for sexually assaulting boys in his care in 2005 and 2009.

John Burbine killed himself behind bars in in March.
Marian Burbine was accused of knowingly allowing children to be around her husband. She pleaded guilty to six counts of child endangerment and two counts of running an unlicensed day care.

She will be sentenced later this month.
