WEST ROXBURY, Mass. (WHDH) -
School is out for summer and one assistant athletic director won't be returning in the fall.
Earlier this week, a letter went home to Catholic Memorial High School parents warning them of a "serious situation that has developed involving one of our employees."
Assistant Athletic Director James Cerbo was fired; accused of sending inappropriate text messages. The school calls it unacceptable and a clear violation of its policies pertaining to harassment, electronic communications and boundaries.
Cerbo's father told 7News his son has been with the school about eight years.
High school officials won't give any details about the nature of the texts or who received them.
The Department of Children and Families has been informed about the alleged incident.
Right now, Cerbo isn't facing any charges but DCF referred the case to the district attorney.
