Maine man arrested for leaving creepy notes

Posted: Updated:
KENNEBUNK, Maine (WHDH) - Police in Maine have charged a man who they say is responsible for leaving suspicious notes in mailboxes.

Police believe 39-year-old Robert Simkowitz left the letters in mailboxes on Ross Road in Kennebunk.

Simkowitz has been charged with two counts of criminal threatening after surveillance was released showing a man walk up to a mailbox.

The note read: "I will not stay away from your kids. Your friend, pervert."

Police say, they received numerous tips from people about who the man delivering the notes might be.

Simkowitz is set to appear in court in September.
