With ample sun this morning - and some hanging on through the afternoon - PLUS the release of the Dumb and Dumber 2 trailer - today was a pretty good day. The few showers that made a charge into Central and Eastern Mass. this afternoon were devoured by the dry air in place, but I think they signal a shift to wetter times in the days ahead.
That's not to say we're looking at a washout tomorrow. Thursday is spent getting the humidity back into the region, and keeping the steady rain away. There is a small possibility of a renegade shower making a run at us later in the day or evening tomorrow, however. Temps hover in the upper 60s to low 70s - not very summery.
The weather maps want to paint rain all over Friday. I too am thinking that there will be downpours and thunder around in the warm air, but there will be breaks in between each storm/shower too. With weak steering currents in the upper atmosphere, plenty of "water loading" in the atmosphere, and a sticky airmass, there could be some significant rain and or possible urban flooding...beware!
Lingering showers on Saturday should dampen the first part of the day, then clearing SHOULD move in by afternoon. I'm not promising anything yet, due to the aforementioned slow steering currents. Clouds and showers could drag their feet in the morning. Either way, though, the humidity will lower throughout the day. Sunday looks good all around. Maybe a beach day with pops??
Take it easy.
