Police: Small plane crashes in Burlington, no injuries

Posted: Updated:
BURLINGTON, Mass. (WHDH) - Burlington Police and the FAA are investigating a small plane crash in Burlington that left two passengers dazed but uninjured.

According to the Burlington Chief of Police the parachute on the plane deployed and likely saved the pilot and passenger's lives.

“It certainly slowed the planes decent down, it’s attached to the plane itself. I think it’s safe to say it probably did save their lives,” Burlington Police Chief Michael Kent said.

Witnesses say they saw the plane coming down and ran to help.

“When we saw the plane coming down with the parachute open we ran through the woods. He called 911 and we didn’t really think about it, we ran in,” Emilio Santana said. “The guy was shaking, he was freaking out. He wasn’t saying much, he was just puking.”

Officials said the female pilot and male passenger were taken to the Lahey Clinic as a precaution.
Both people were released within a few hours.

According to the NTSB the plane was headed to Hanscom Field when it crashed.
