It’s a mild and muggy Tuesday with clouds, a few breaks of sun and the occasional shower or t’storm that passes on by. The trend is for those showers to be isolated this morning and a bit more widespread this afternoon as temps warm to near 80 degrees, adding to the instability of the atmosphere. The main threat of any thunderstorm today will be lightning and a downpour. No widespread severe weather is expect. Bottom line: Keep the umbrella on standby. While dew point levels in the low to mid 60s isn’t quite tropical, it is high enough to notice that we have a case of the muggies for sure as it’s not the best hair.
The shower threat continues through the first half of the night before drier air works in late. Wind turns NE as well, and that easterly breeze will keep us 10-15 degrees cooler on Wednesday. Wednesday looks mainly dry and even on Thursday, most showers tend to be outside 495, leaving much of eastern Mass dry.
Showers and storms become more widespread again Friday and Friday night as the humidity and instability go up. The front that delivers those showers and storms moves offshore Saturday morning as any early showers exit for returning sunshine and a great rest of the weekend.
