Justina Pelletier speaks out in new video

Posted: Updated:
BOSTON (WHDH) - For the first time, a Connecticut teen in the middle of a custody fight has her voice heard.

Fifteen-year-old Justina Pelletier was placed in the care of the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families after a visit to Boston Children's Hospital this winter.

The hospital alleged that the girl's parents were not taking adequate care of her.

Justina spoke out in a video, saying what she wanted to happen.

"All I want to be with is with my family and friends and it's all I want is just be with my family and friends... back home... right now," she said.

Doctors believe Justina's condition was psychological, while her parents believe she has mitochondrial disease.
