Boston Fire Department honors fallen heroes

Posted: Updated:
BOSTON (WHDH) - The Boston Fire Department honored fallen heroes Sunday at an annual memorial service, marked with the deaths of two firefighters who died battling a Back Bay fire.

Firefighters placed flowers on grave sites at Forest Hills Cemetery in Jamaica Plain to pay tribute to those who gave their lives in the line of duty.

This year's memorial was very emotional for first responders after the deaths of Lt. Ed Walsh and firefighter Michael Kennedy who died battling a fire in the Back Bay in March.

Their names were then unveiled on the memorial tablets at a ceremony in Dorchester.
