Motorcyclist dead after Dorchester shooting

DORCHESTER, Mass. (WHDH) - Boston Police say a man is dead after he was shot in Dorchester Friday evening.

Police arrived at the scene at around 8:43 p.m. where they observed a man lying in the street with life-threatening injuries. He was taken to Boston Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The victim was on the ground as a result of a motorcycle crash. It's unknown when the man was shot.

Police were at the scene on Dorchester Avenue near Taft Street as of 11:30 p.m.

Boston Police are still investigating the incident and are asking anybody with information to call the Boston Police Homicide Unit at (617) 343-4470.
