BOSTON (WHDH) -
The man accused of attacking a woman in her Arlington home waived his right to a dangerousness hearing at his appearance in court on Friday.
Essie L. Billingslea, 45, of Boston, a registered Level 3 Sex Offender, agreed to remain held without bail after a hearing that lasted approximately one minute.
Billingslea is expected to return to court for a probable cause hearing on July 2.
One of his past victims spoke out in a Boston Globe article, saying that she was raped by Billingslea 25 years ago. She said she didn't know he had been released and said the recent attack was horrible but that she wasn't surprised.
Police allege Billingslea broke into a woman's home on Sunday, beat and raped her. They say this was a random attack. Billingslea is charged with aggravated rape (subsequent offense), kidnapping, home invasion, assault and battery and armed assault in a dwelling.
