Patriots receivers prepping during OTAs

Posted: Updated:
FOXBORO, Mass. (WHDH) - Week 2 of practice is in full swing down in Foxboro, the organized team activities are giving Tom Brady an opportunity to reconnect with his receivers.

Despite signing a four year $17 million deal, Julian Edelman isn't approaching this season any differently.

"Whether it's trying to make the team, trying to earn your role, trying to contribute or something and um I'm just like one of those guys trying to earn a role and go out there and help this team,” he said.

After being sidelined for much of his first season with the Pats, Danny Amendola is eager to help too, putting 2013 behind him and only looking ahead.

"Going in my second year, you know I’m excited about where we're going,” he said.

Even in the early stages of the offseason the Patriots will tell you it's been very competitive, with the addition of Darrell Revis and Brandon Browner the receivers say they're getting challenged on a daily basis which is only making them better."

"Browner has long arms so you got to use your quickness and Revis is just so smart and quick, obviously has a knack for playing good football so it's been great for our receiving corp.,” Amendola said.

"It's going to make you better, you know if you don't focus on a fundamental or if you're going to be lazy that these types of guys will take advantage of that opportunity,” Edelman said.

If the Pats receivers can excel against top talent in practice, they'll have a good chance against any opponent on Sundays.
