Minnesota Vikings player saves couple in broken boat

Posted: Updated:

While filming a story about high water levels, a news photographer noticed a couple struggling on the lake, drifting closer and closer to the spillway.

He called 911 but then a hero jumped in to action, Minnesota Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway

“I figured I could help them out. It looked like a dangerous situation,” Greenway said.

Greenway helped pull the boat away from the spillway and had to help the sheriff's department when they showed up to tow the boat.

“The waves were so big and the winds are so strong today that it pushed them right into the rocks so we had to get him out of the rocks, get his prop cleaned out of the rope and turned in a different direction,” Greenway said.

“We were looking at the beautiful houses, and all of a sudden the steering wheel wouldn't turn and we were going around in circles,” Crystal Alexis said.

Edward and Crystal Alexis just bought their boat, the first trip out was an exciting one to say the least.
