The teenager charged with raping and killing his high school teacher in Danvers was accused of another attack.

Sources told 7News Philip Chism attacked a woman while he was in state custody in Dorchester.

The female staffer was reportedly fine, but according to sources, her coworkers needed to help her during the attack.

Immediately after the assault, Chism was transported to Boston Medical Center for an evaluation.

He is now being guarded by employees of the Essex County Sheriff’s Department while state police investigate.

Chism, 15, has been held since he pleaded not guilty to raping and killing math teacher Colleen Ritzer.

Sources said he would likely face new assault charges in this recent attack.

The Department of Youth Services did not discuss specifics, citing juvenile and medical privacy laws, but did issue a statement.

“DYS is working closely with law enforcement to investigate an assault that took place on a member of the staff at our Dorchester facility. The safety and well-being of our staff is of primary concern and a full review of this incident will be conducted to identify any necessary security enhancements at the facility,” the statement said.

Police are still interviewing witnesses and Chism’s attorney did not return a call for comment.
