Gronkowski hosts annual football camp in Melrose

Posted: Updated:
MELROSE, Mass. (WHDH) - Rob Gronkowski is in his element when he's hanging out with kids, so he had some fun at his annual football camp in Melrose on Sunday.

For the seven hour camp, he led kids through drills and gave football tips. Instead of catching passes, Gronkowski was throwing them. Maybe he'd consider a position change?

"I know, my arm is good man. Like, Brady better watch out. He knows I got an arm, too. But it's a blast, just throwing to these kids," Gronkowski said.

The Patriots tight end has been going through his own workouts on the side while the rest of his teammates take part in OTAs.

"I remember last year, though, they all asked, like 'when you gonna be back?' Gronkowski said. "I'm not lying, not one kid this time, this year, has asked when am I gonna be back. It looks like they're just having a lot of fun and that's not even on their mind, which is cool, that I don't gotta answer to these kids!"

He had some words of wisdom as well.

"You just gotta go in and work hard every day, and if you're giving it all you got, when you're at work in the weight room, out on the field, then you can't really be disappointed. So every single day, every single week, just gotta keep on grinding to get better."
