Thursday was the first full day of testimony in the trial of Seth Mazzaglia who is accused of murdering 19-year-old Lizzi Marriott after she denied his sexual advances.

Among the witnesses was Brittany Atwood, Marriott’s girlfriend at the time of her death.

Atwood testified that she had spoken with Marriott about Mazzaglia and his bisexual girlfriend and says Marriott was happy when she met the couple.

When asked how she knew Marriott was excited, Atwood said she has experience the same feelings.

“Because I’m gay myself and I feel that way when I meet somebody who is also gay too,” she said.

Marriott’s aunt, Dana Hanna, also took the stand and spoke about when she knew something was wrong and her niece was in trouble.

Hanna said Marriott was living with her while attending the University of New Hampshire and she was very familiar with Marriott’s schedule.
