Officer Collier honored by Hull PD

HULL, Mass. (WHDH) - A hero most associated with the marathon bombings was honored Tuesday for what he did for the town of Hull.

The Hull Police Department honored MIT officer Sean Collier at a memorial service.

Officers dedicated a plaque and flagpole to Collier.

Members of the Somerville Police Department also attended the service.

Officer Collier was executed in his MIT police car after the Boston Marathon bombing last year.

He served as a summer/reserve police officer in Hull during the summers of 2008 through 2010.
