A man and two children were injured when their car crashed upside down into a swimming pool in Ledyard.

Police say Marcus Harvin of New Britain was driving at 1 a.m. Sunday when he lost control of the car and struck a telephone pole and a traffic control box. The car drove through a guard rail on the opposite side of the road and flipped over on its roof in a backyard swimming pool.

Police say one child in the car suffered a serious arm injury and the other child’s leg is fractured.

State Police say the 25-year-old Harwin sustained possible internal injuries.

Police did not release the names or ages of the children.
