Car crashes into West Roxbury VA Hospital

Posted: Updated:
WEST ROXBURY, Mass. (WHDH) - No one was injured Friday when an Elderly man accidentally drove his car into the side of the VA Hospital Friday afternoon.

Early indications show that the driver accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the break causing his car to crash into the mechanical room at the hospital.

Witnesses say there are often people standing right where the man crashed.

“We have people standing there all the time, we were lucky,” Mathiew St. Louis said.

The Building Inspector was called to look at damage to the building and the area remains roped off even after the car was removed.

“I was upstairs when I heard the fire truck so I got out and I saw the guy stuck in the wall,” Paul Burke said.

The investigation remains under investigation but everything at the hospital is back to business as usual.

The driver was taken to the emergency room as a precaution but didn't suffer any injuries.
