Holyoke promoting new signs after baseball fight

Posted: Updated:
HOLYOKE, Mass. (WHDH) - The city of Holyoke coming up with a game plan after a fight at a youth baseball game.

A woman is accused of punching a teenage girl at the game on Monday night.

Now a city councilor is asking that signs promoting good behavior during baseball games be posted at all baseball fields and other sports venues around the city.

Right now, the sign, which was approved last year, is up at only one field.

“I decided to step up and do something about it. Now the sign might not be a huge thing but maybe if a person comes here and sees the sign and reads the sign, they’ll think differently,” he said.

The woman accused of punching the girl will be summonsed to court on an assault and battery charge at a later date.
