Police investigating brutal Brighton assault

BOSTON (WHDH) - Boston Police are investigating an assault that left one person with life threatening injuries in Brighton early Saturday morning.

According to police, officers responded to 1350 Commonwealth Ave. at around 12:38 a.m. for reports of a person who had been assaulted.

The victim's friend told police that two individuals jumped and attacked the victim, who suffered head trauma and had to be transported to Brigham & Women's Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The victim's condition worsened at the hospital and the injuries were elevated to life threatening.

The suspects are described as two black males, both approximately six feet tall with medium builds. One suspect was wearing a burnt red T-shirt and a red hat that may have been a Cincinnati Reds cap. The other was wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt.
