Limits on Walden Pond swimming withdrawn

Posted: Updated:
CONCORD, Mass. (WHDH) - Walden Pond in Concord will open to the public on Saturday, with no new limitations in place.

The Boston Globe reports that officials have scrapped a plan to create a designated "swimming lane" after a number of water rescues in the past few years.

Just last year, a Lincoln man died in the pond. A seven-year-old boy was also rescued after nearly downing.
