SALEM, Mass. (WHDH) -
Workers were in Salem Saturday afternoon repairing a broken water main.
The break occurred on Jefferson Avenue in the morning.
Authorities said that Salem residents might experience interruptions to their water services, including drops in pressure, brown water or receiving no water.
Officials are also telling residents that once water service is restored, the water might still be brown. This is not unusual and people experiencing this issue should run cold water until it is clear.
The DPW worked through the afternoon to repair the pipe.
