New details on body found in Brockton

Posted: Updated:
BROCKTON, Mass. (WHDH) - Authorities said the woman found dead in Brockton was a certified nursing assistant.

Officials are investigating the death of 37-year-old Florence Beaulieu, a mother of four whose body was found in her Brockton home.

Beaulieu's daughter discovered her mother after getting home from school Friday.

The Department of Children and Families confirmed the children were in its custody.

Neighbors said they were stunned about what happened.

“It’s a surprise to all of us, it’s a surprise to happen on this street,” Saul Alicea said.

Police and the District Attorney did not release much information, but said that the woman was found inside her home on Forest Avenue around 3:15 p.m. Friday.

District Attorney Timothy Cruz said in a statement that there would be an autopsy to determine how the woman died.

“The older daughter, that the one who found her, she was crying, and she was talking to the cop,” a neighbor said.

Neighbors said the family only moved into the home a few months ago and family members told 7News the victim was married.

Investigators did not reveal any information about the victim's husband, including whether he is a person of interest. The neighbors say they believe the victim was married to a man who didn't live at the address.

“We’ve heard a lot of things, everyone is assuming and wondering and asking,” a neighbor said.

Beaulieu was a certified nursing assistant at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Milton and worked there for about a year. She was described as a happy person who was always smiling. Officials at the hospital say the news of her death has been hard on employees.

No arrests have been announced related to this death and there is no information on a suspect.
