Homeless man dies of heart attack after getting attacked

Posted: Updated:
BOSTON (WHDH) - A homeless man is dead and prosecutors say they have arrested the man who caused his death on Boylston Street.

Dominick Moran is accused of assaulting the 56-year-old man, but it wasn’t physical trauma that lead to the man’s death.

“They didn't find any overt signs of trauma to the victim. It's likely that this event, the heart attack, came as a result of this altercation,” Dave Bradley, the prosecutor, said.

Moran’s attorney tells a different story though.

"It's a little bit unusual that someone after doing something like that would hang around and call the police and wait for police to arrive,” Bruce Carroll said.

Carroll said his client was the victim of the attack, he even said Moran called the police.

Moran is currently facing assault and battery charges, but prosecutors say he could face more serious charges as the investigation continues.
