Boston pays wrongful conviction settlement

Posted: Updated:
BOSTON (WHDH) - Boston has paid a $5-million settlement to a man who spent 14 years in prison for a murder he didn't commit.

Shawn Drumgold was wrongfully convicted in the 1988 death of Darlene Tiffany Moore. She was a 12-year-old Roxbury girl who got caught in gang crossfire.

Drumgold was released after a witness admitted lying. He then sued the city.

He is reportedly planning to use the money to pay for his kids to go to college.
