MGH confirms patient had measles

Posted: Updated:
BOSTON (WHDH) - A patient at Mass. General Hospital was diagnosed with the measles, the hospital confirmed on Wednesday.

The patient was there on May 4 and 5.

A Board of Health spokesperson said that there have been no secondary cases. The infectious diseases department is working with the hospital to prevent the spread, which includes following up with anyone who may have been in contact with the patient.

The infection is very contagious but the hospital says they followed standard infection control procedures and they're not calling it an outbreak.
