Ex-girlfriend of accused Brentwood shooter recalls relationship

Posted: Updated:
BRENTWOOD, N.H. (WHDH) - Officials believe Michael Nolan killed a police officer inside his father’s home before he died in a fire Monday afternoon.

Nolan’s ex-girlfriend said when they were together nearly 15 years ago he became aggressive toward her.

“It was towards the end of relationship and he was drinking a lot, he was becoming an alcoholic, that’s how I knew I needed to walk away. Then one day he pulled a gun on me and that’s when I knew it needed to end,” Kelley Forest said.

Forest said she has a family of her own now, and doesn’t know what caused him to allegedly shoot the officer.

“I don't what could have drove him to do anything like this, there’s been no contact since 1996,” she said.

Forest said she didn’t report the incidents from when she was dating Nolan to the police at the time and has no idea where he got the gun.
