BRENTWOOD, N.H. (WHDH) -
Two days after the death of a police officer and subsequent explosion in a duplex in New Hampshire police are still looking for answers.
Police are only allowing residents of the 55-and-over community in and using barricades and crime scene tape to keep others out.
Aerial footage of the scene showed a crime scene investigator surveying the scene with a dog and a crane nearby.
Police believe officer Steve Arkell was shot and killed while responding to a domestic disturbance Monday at the Mill Pond Crossing sub-division.
The the man who allegedly shot Arkell was killed when an explosion occurred a short time later.
Now community members are left wondering what happened.
"People holding on to one another and talking about it and mentioning him and keeping him in their thoughts and prayers and his family and doing everything they can to help,” Dennis Stevens, a Brentwood resident, said.
