WASHINGTON (WHDH) - President Obama presented awards to some of the first responders to last year's Boston Marathon attack.

One Massachusetts State Trooper and 24 officers from the Boston and Watertown police departments were honored with the nation's TOP COPS award.

The president said he was impressed with the collaboration between departments during the tragedy.

He added that America owed a debt of gratitude to those who put themselves in danger, day in and day out.
