LEOMINSTER, Mass. (WHDH) - The driver accused of hitting a Leominster teen with his car and leaving the scene appeared in court Monday and was held on $15,000 cash bail.

Police said Daniel Brand, 34, hit the 16-year-old teen and drove away, dragging his bicycle up the road before throwing it down an embankment.

The teen, Josh Carillo, broke both his legs in the collision. He returned home and was resting comfortably.

Police said Brand told a witness not to tell police about the crash. He faces charges including witness intimidation and driving to endanger.
