2-alarm fire starts in attic of Roxbury building

ROXBURY, Mass. (WHDH) - Firefighters responded to a 2-alarm fire in Roxbury Sunday afternoon.

Upon arrival at approximately 3:40 p.m., Boston Fire noted that there was heavy fire coming from the rear top floor of the building at 21 East Cottage St. The fire was coming from the attic of the two and a half story wood frame.

Smoke detectors sounded. Two apartments were in the building.

No injuries were reported. Three adults have been displaced.

The fire chief estimated the damage at around $300,000.

Investigators are on the scene trying to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
