Matt Fraser scores first playoff goal to clinch Bruins OT win

BOSTON (WHDH) - Bruins fans couldn't be happier that winger Matt Fraser got the call up Wednesday afternoon.

The 23-year-old from Alberta scored the game winning goal in overtime in his first playoff appearance.

"You always think about it but you never think it'll happen to you. It was a good play by everyone on the ice, I was just the beneficiary of it,” Fraser said.

Fraser said it has been a whirlwind; he was sitting at home Wednesday when he got the call.

“I had just finished eating lunch and I didn’t tell anyone but I just had frozen yogurt too,” Fraser said after the game.

After the game his teammates spoke about what it was like to see the puck go in off Fraser’s stick.

"He's been awesome for us all year, he's been great in the playoffs and tonight he was as good as you can be,” Jarome Iginla

But that was game four and now the Bruins are coming home with the series tied.

"We're relieved that it is what it is, but still we know as a team we can be a lot better on the ice and you know in order to get more wins, we have to play better" Tuukka Rask said.

Game 5 is at the TD Garden Saturday night at 7 p.m., it will air on NBC Sports Network.
