NH missing teen's mother adds $10K reward

Posted: Updated:
CONWAY, N.H. (WHDH) - The mother of missing Conway, N.H. teen Abigail Hernandez is offering a $10,000 reward for information that can return her home.

The last known picture of Hernandez was also released along with the announcement on Friday. It was taken three hours before she disappeared.

The new reward, which is being offered by Hernandez's mother Zenya Hernandez, is in addition to the $20,000 reward offered by the FBI.

In an email, Zenya said that the family just wants answers.

"We don't believe that Abby ran away, and that she would be able to survive on her own for this long...We don't know, if Abby is alive at this time, or if she is safe," the email said.

The FBI and New Hampshire attorney general's office said 15-year-old Abigail Hernandez wrote her mother a letter postmarked Oct. 23, two weeks after she was last seen on Oct. 9. The family didn't get the letter until Nov. 6.

The teen was last seen leaving Kennett High School in North Conway. The newly-released photo was taken at the school.

Anybody with information on her disappearance is asked to contact the Conway Police Department at (603) 356-5715, the N.H. State Police at (603) 223-3860 or the FBI at (800) CALL-FBI.
