MILFORD, Mass. (WHDH) -
A 4-year-old boy was hit by a vehicle in Milford while walking with his mother Tuesday afternoon.
Witnesses say the child was hit by a minivan while crossing West Street behind his mother.
“I saw a woman run out in the road and scoop the child up and bring him to the sidewalk. There was still a sweatshirt left in the middle of the road and all traffic stopped immediately,” John Lovely said.
The driver was a mother with her three children in the car when she hit the young boy.
It doesn't appear as if the driver was speeding at the time of the crash, police believe the boy may have darted in front of the car.
West Street was closed for several hours while police investigated the crash. It does not appear as if the driver will be cited for the crash.
